Sheen Yarns
Except yarns with the natural sheen made out of bombyx silk, rayon, tencel, viscose, and other natural or synthetic fibers, there are also metallic yarns which contains a metal (usually aluminium) used for decorative effects, and so called tincel yarns coated or covered with a shiny substance (e.g. aluminium, gold or silver) to produce glittering effect. Some of the yarns have a sparkling effect because of different decorations on the thread: sequins, pieces of lurex, etc.
