Metallic, Lamé-Effect, Sheen, Glittering Yarns
Except yarns with a natural sheen made out of bombyx silk, rayon, tencel, viscose, and other natural or synthetic fibers, there are also metallic yarns which contain a metal (usually aluminium) used for decorative effects.
There are also the so called tincel yarns. These yarns are coated or covered with a shiny substance (e.g. aluminium, gold or silver) to produce glittering effect. Some of these yarns have a sparkling effect because of different decorations on the thread: sequins, pieces of lurex, etc.
