Suri Elegance is a lace-weight, precious alpaca yarn millspun in Peru. Suri alapca fiber is naturally lustrous, grows in amazingly long locks, has superior softness, and is considered the most valuable alpaca fiber in the world. Suri Elegance is recommended for shawls and any other designs in hand- or machine-knitted lace and open-work stitch patterns.

Known facts: Suri fiber has a natural lock structure that makes it grow in long, lustrous clusters. Unlike Huacaya fiber, Suri has no crimp, but it has an extraordinary silky sheen similar to mohair. Suri is ideally suited for worsted spun yarn used in making suits. Those beautiful Armani suits made of alpaca come from Suri. Reference: Wild Fibers magazine, Fall 2010.
