Araucania LONTUE [50% Linen, 50% Cotton]

Araucania LONTUÉ,
made in Chile

natural

Araucania Lontué is 2-ply, fingering weight (2.25 - 2.75 mm, US 1-2) cottolin with slightly thick-and-thin, hand-spun-effect texture. This yarn is hand painted in ethnic and exceptionally beautiful muted hues by the Araucania's dye artists using traditional and ancient techniques: Each hank is different and individual within one colourway of interwoven shades. Manufacturer's recommendation: As there are no dye lots, we recommend buying enough yarn at one time to complete each individual project. Knit with two hanks in assorted rows (2-4), this will assure an overall blended effect.

FYI: Lontué Valley is traditional wine-growing area. The region is located in central Chile, 200 km south of Santiago, and its center is the city of Curico. This wine region is bounded by the rivers Teno and Lontué and is in a landscape basically structured into three bands defined: The high Andes, the Central Plains, the seat of the main agricultural activities, mainly viticulture.
