Brittany Art Deco straight knitting needles, classic double points, cable needles and hooks are made of sustainably harvested California birch - the superior strength and quality wood for making needles. Its tensile strength and stability maintain size, resist warping and allow for smoothness of finish no other needle can provide. Birch needles (as well as ones made of bamboo, ebony, surina or rosewood) do not drain heat from sensitive fingers the way aluminum and plastic needles do.
The Barnes family has been making them in California for over 35 years. These needles and hooks are hand finished and exactly sized. They are very comfortable to work with, strong, beautifully designed, and provide superior glide. Polishing compound is made from vegetable based waxes and a mineral abrasive. Brittany use a proprietary formula developed over years of research, and tests have shown their compound makes the needles slipperier than commercially available polishing products. |
