Fancy and Trendy Designer Yarns

Modern novelty yarns include a wide variety of yarns made with different special effects such as slubs, produced by intentionally including small lumps in the yarn structure, yarns with coiled areas of varying dementions (spiral yarns), or with varying thickness (thick-and-thin yarns) introduced during production. Texture mixes include sequined ribbons, slubbed fleece, fleece-boulé, fleece-ribbons, thick-and-thin multicolored textures, fleece with brilliant glow, iridescent effect cords, three-in-one, rosebud ribbons, lamé effect yarns, etc. There are also many other types of yarns showing different special effects: snarly, tinsel, tuffle, knop, twist-on-twist, knickerbocker or nepp yarn - a fancy yarn with randomly placed flecks or spots of differently colored fibers, and other fancies.   Tufted Wool Tarzan-style Dress, Susanna Ocotber 2011.
