"Pima cotton is prized all around the world as a luxury fiber and is called "Gamuza" by the Peruvians, meaning "Suede" in Spanish because of its silky soft feel and brilliant luster." - Peru's Textiles.
Cascade Luna is a pure Pima cotton yarn. It is designed to consist of two strands twisted together similarly to so-called flammé yarns - loosely (core) and tightly (wrap) spun filaments of pure cotton are twisted together, resulting in a beautiful and slightly nubby, crêpe-effect texture reminiscent of silk-bouclé. Because of this special construction, the yarn always stays lofty. Luna is ultra soft, dyed in warm, solid colours, and is suitable for chilly summer or autumn/spring sweaters, T-shirts, ponchos, wraps, dresses, accessories.
For informaiton: Tangüis cotton is Peruvian Pima Cotton grown in Canete's Valley and the Central Coast of Peru. It is also known as "Oro Blanco" - White Gold.
